On Monday evening, My Window Cleaner was independently voted by the British Franchise Association & HSBC bank, as the BEST emerging franchise in Britain.

On Monday evening, My Window Cleaner was independently voted by the British Franchise Association & HSBC bank, as the BEST emerging franchise in Britain.

WOW!!! Just WOW!

In the awards process, we had to submit an initial application and provide substantial data, as well as our vision. Karen, Dave and myself had to give a 15 minute formal presentation (we completed it in 14 minutes and 58 seconds!) and then interviewed by a panel of judges, including the BFA, HSBC, franchise lawyers and accountants. However, not in our wildest dreams did we expect to win “The Emerging Franchisor” award. To beat the likes of Vodafone, a world class and well-known brand, at this stage in our franchise journey, is the stuff that dreams are made of. I apologise if we are self-gloating a bit, but this has blown us away and we are delighted for everyone involved with the brand and business. This has been a great team effort.

The awards are the flagship event in the franchising calendar, with nominees and winners proving the business works ethically and in the best interests of franchisees and staff. This year the awards were postponed and held virtually, as the safety of everyone involved was of very high importance.

If you have read our previous blogs, you will know what a tremendous year the brand has had, and our franchise partners have enjoyed. There are not many people that can say that they enjoyed 2020! We are lucky, privileged and are not afraid to say that we have all reaped the rewards from lots of hard work.

Pip Wilkins, CEO of the British Franchise Association, commented: “Although the company began in 1996, My Window Cleaner has only been franchising since very recently. The business, which has found a real niche in the marketplace, has really started to grow and consolidate the market in territories where it currently operates, which is why the award has been received by them. There are more franchise systems than ever before, showing that businesses are choosing franchising as an ideal model for them. The fact My Window Cleaner managed to win this accolade, when so many new companies are entering into franchising, is a testament to the company’s values and culture.”

Andy Brattesani, UK Head of Franchising at HSBC, said “It was fantastic to hear from the Franchisor Emerging finalists and learn about their journey into franchising. My Window Cleaner impressed the judges with its state-of-the-art IT system and innovation.”

Our founder and MD Karen Prewer was thrilled, "There is still much to do on our journey; we will not rest on our laurels. This business has so much potential. Up until now, we have been a signpost in a busy industry. This coveted award has now put us on the map, as an important destination to travel to."
